Diversity & Inclusion

The International Society for Hydrogen Innovation and New Energy Dissemination (iSHINEd) is a global non-profit organization driving the clean energy transition through research, education, and collaboration.

Different backgrounds. Shared mission. Collective impact.

Our 5 Key Commitments

Everyone Belongs in the Energy Revolution

iSHINEd believes breakthrough innovation happens when diverse minds collaborate freely.

We create spaces where every researcher, engineer, and innovator can contribute fully, regardless of background, identity, or career stage.

    Our Commitment

At the heart of iSHINEd lies a fundamental belief: the free exchange of ideas and the right to think and express oneself openly.

This vision thrives only in an environment that upholds the dignity of each individual and promotes understanding, mutual respect, and inclusivity.

The hydrogen economy we're building must reflect the world it serves. That means welcoming voices from every continent, discipline, and perspective.

    What Diversity Means at iSHINEd

Diversity encompasses the full spectrum of characteristics and experiences that make up our global community.

This includes differences in career stage, academic position, geographic location, age, gender, nationality, physical ability, ethnicity, gender identity or expression, language, marital or

family status, race, religion, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic background.

Different perspectives don't dilute excellence. They define it.

    What Inclusion Looks Like

Inclusion means active engagement and meaningful participation for all members.

Every researcher has equitable access to conferences, workshops, and leadership opportunities. Fair representation shapes our organizing committees and speaker lineups.

We actively listen to underrepresented voices in energy innovation. We remove barriers through scholarships, remote participation options, and accessibility support.

We maintain zero tolerance for discrimination, harassment, or bias of any kind.

    Why This Matters

Climate change affects everyone. Energy poverty impacts billions.

Hydrogen and new energy solutions must emerge from global collaboration, not isolated echo chambers. When a Nigerian PhD student shares insights with a Norwegian industry leader, when Indigenous knowledge informs renewable integration, when multilingual teams solve complex problems together, we all advance faster.

The energy transition needs perspectives from Lagos, Oslo, Mumbai, and Santiago working side by side.

Whether you're a student, professor, engineer, or entrepreneur,

you have a place in iSHINEd.

Your unique perspective strengthens our collective mission

to power a sustainable future.
